Football and Cheer Program Descriptions
CO-ED Flag (5-7)
This is the basic skills level for our younger athletes. Coaches work with the athletes to develop the fundamentals of football in a fun and engaging practice model. Flag will practice 4 days a week until school starts when they will move to 2 nights a week at Butler Park. Coaches will focus on the basics of football while also teaching the kids to work as a team to achieve a goal. The format for games will be 7 on 7 using the USA Football rule book. They will play other teams in the area on Saturdays. All athletes will receive a custom Warriors game jersey to keep and wear proudly.
Girls Flag (8-16)
Our all girls flag program is designed to prepare our athletes to play at the high school level, when it becomes available. Coaches work with the athletes to develop the fundamentals of football and establish this fast growing sport in our school district. Girls Flag will practice 4 days a week until school starts when they will move to 2 nights a week at Butler Park. This program will work on creating an established team that will be ready to compete at a higher level. The program serves to show our district the need to establish a high school team. The format for games will be 7 on 7 using the USA Football rule book. They will play other teams in the area on Saturdays. All athletes will receive a custom Warriors game jersey to keep and wear proudly.
8U Tackle (7-8)
This is the introduction level to tackle football. The athletes at this level with be taught all the proper techniques needed to be safe and successful. They will be taught using the HAWK tackling method to ensure the upmost safety. The athletes will have the opportunity to work side by side with our high school coaches and athletes at our yearly camp held over the summer. Teams will practice 4 nights a week before school starts and twice a week after. All of our tackle teams work hand in hand with our high school coaches to prepare the athletes to move into the school system. 8U will play a full 7-8 week schedule against local teams. All equipment, besides cleats and mouthguard, is provided by the league. They will receive a custom Warriors game jersey to keep and wear with pride.
10U Tackle (9-10)
Our 10U program is designed to continue building on the skills and techniques the athletes have learned along with, teaching basics to anyone who is new to the sport. We will develop more advanced skills for our athletes to stay competitive with local teams. At this level we will prepare the athletes for the transition to school ball. Our staff works side by side with the school coaches to ensure an easy transition when joining our school program. They are encouraged to attend our summer camp with the high school as well as film study once a week during the season. Film typically lasts 30 minutes. The team will practice 4 times a week before school starts and drop to twice a week after. They will play a full 7-8 game schedule during the season, with games typically played on Sundays. All equipment is provided by the league, except for cleats and mouthguards. Every athlete will be given a custom Warriors game jersey to wear with pride.
12U Tackle (11-12)
Our 12U program is designed to teach advanced skills to our athletes to prepare them for the next step in joining our modified football program. This level will serve as a springboard into our school program. Our staff works hand in hand with our school coaches to ensure a smooth transition into playing at the modified level. They are encouraged to attend our summer camp with the high school as well as film study once a week during the season. Film typically lasts 30 minutes. The team will practice 4 times a week before school starts and drop to twice a week after. They will play a full 7-8 game schedule during the season, with games typically played on Sundays. All equipment is provided by the league, except for cleats and mouthguards. Every athlete will be given a custom Warriors game jersey to wear with pride.
Competitive Cheer (5-12)
Averill Park Junior Warriors 2025 Competition Cheer Season will begin August 1st, 2025 and ends February 28th, 2026.
Divisions Offered:
Royal Rebels (Ages 5-6-7) - Season runs August 1st - December 31st
Royal Renegades (Ages 7-8-9) - August 1st - February 28th
Royal Revolution (Ages 9-10-11-12) - August 1st - February 28th

Sideline Cheer (5-12)
Averill Park Junior Warriors 2025 Sideline Cheer Season will begin August 1st, 2025 and ends November 1st, 2025.
Practices take place Tuesdays from 5:30 -7:30PM starting Tuesday, August 5th at Butler Park. Potential for additional practices and clinics to be added. Weather permitting – make-up practices for Tuesday weather cancellations will be held on Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:30PM at Butler Park.
